I love this. Slow is powerful. And often, surprisingly awkward. Because it has become unfamiliar to us.

One of the core Healthy Deviant exercises I encourage people to do iis an experiment called "The Three Walks." And one of those walks is the "Slow Down Walk."

People often report to me that they find it the most difficult to perform. Because it is not at all what they are used to. Their neurology and physiology have been wired to move quickly and so moving slowly pulls them off balance and scrambles their brains in ways that surprise them.

I think it's time we surprised ourselves more. And high time we began deviating from our society's unhealthy, unconscious defaults.
